Females in Construction Initiative
WEPCo, in collaboration with the Women’s Leadership Group, has developed the Females in Construction programme to inspire and inform the next generation of women considering careers in the construction industry.
The programme offers valuable insight into the sector, showcasing construction as a rewarding and achievable career path for young women. It brings these opportunities to life through the real experiences of women currently delivering WEPCo projects across Wales.
A range of resources — including podcasts, case studies, and informative leaflets — are available to anyone interested in exploring the industry from a female perspective, highlighting the diverse roles and experiences of women working in construction in Wales.

I am a Senior Site Manager at Bouygues UK with 9 years of progressive experience in the construction industry. About Lisa:
Lisa is a Project Manager with WEPCo. With a varied career background Lisa began her journey through a graduate training programme with a Tier 1 Contractor after completing a BSC Hons in Construction Management. With over 20years experience in both pre-construction and operations Lisa is passionate about showing that construction isn’t just one path or one type of role. She enjoys highlighting that construction offers career progression, leadership opportunities and flexibility.

Lucy Guitton – Bouygues UK
About Lucy:
Lucy outlines her interests, passions and dedication to hard work and how at the very start of her career she has already demonstrated the fruits of her labour and the opportunities the construction sector can bring. Serving as Chair of the ICE Wales Early Careers Committee and receiving the Hammermen David K. Harrison Student Award for her research on sustainable concrete, Lucy is a true champion of being a female in construction and is keen to open doors for others in this field.

Tracy Clarke – Bouygues UK
About Tracy:
Tracy is a Design Manager for Bouygues UK, with over 28 years of experience as an Architectural Technician, BREEAM Assessor and Sustainability Advisor, working within Architectural Consultancy.
In this podcast Tracy discusses her route through the construction industry, starting from ‘humble beginnings’ and leaving home at 15. Tracy worked whilst studying, and at the age of 20 joined a specialist Conservation Architecture firm as a Junior Technician and SAP Surveyor, whilst I continued studying part time for my Bachelors Degree.

Louise Sanders – Robertson Construction North West Ltd
About Louise:
Louise is a Senior Quantity Surveyor, working for Robertson Construction North West Ltd for the past 7 years but has been in the industry for over 12 years, her early career started out in estimating at a small construction company before moving on to Quantity Surveying at Robertson. Louise has worked on a variety
of projects from small works to large schemes and loves the dynamics working on a construction site brings. She juggles her career with a busy homelife with her Husband Neal , 3 children Jack (15), Noah (9) and Lottie (4) and 2 dogs, Dougie & Tommy. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Louise has recently completed a climb up Snowdon and last year a coast-to-coast cycle from Morecombe to Bridlington.
